stormdog: (Geek)
I went out today to get the plastic stock to start crafting additional cross-ties for my Spacewarp set. I was planning to check out a craft store, but when I stoppped in at my parents' house to see if they wanted to go with me, my dad suggested Don's Hobbies, a local hobby store that primarily focuses on models. Don is going out of business and everything is thirty percent off (Which has been good for Christmas present purchases!), so I figured I'd see if he had it. He did, along with some plastic to plastic glue that I also picked up.

My dad and I stopped in at Rockhead's afterward so he could pick up a dice bag to use as a prop in his latest play, and then we went to the craft store where I got a glue stick; I used that after I got back to paste my printed cross-tie template onto the plastic stock. Unfortunately, after putting the effort into cleaning off my workbench and getting everything else ready, I realized that my drill bits are at my parents' house. My mom, who last used them, is out gaming tonight, but will look for them tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of things as they stand.

Spacewarp Coaster Parts

This is the collection of parts that I picked up at Rockhead's for three bucks. Not too bad!

Spacewarp Cross-Tie Template

And this is a close up of the template glued to the plastic stock, ready for the touch of the Dremel. Whee!
