stormdog: (sleep)
So, as I work at cleaning up my computer room, I finally figured out what to do with the strings of hard drive magnets I've had sitting in the closet. I took the whole lot of them and stuck them to the floor lamp that sits in the corner behind my quarter-circle computer desk in the corner of the room.

I'm a little bit concerned. There are about fifty or sixty powerful magnets stuck all around the lamp now, and maybe it's just me, but it seems like the lamp is a little bit dimmer. Is it possible that a strong magnetic field around the wiring of the lamp could raise the resistance of the wires and make the light run dimmer on more power? Could it even be dangerous in some way? I'm not an electrical engineer, but I do have a couple engineers who read this I think. Should I find something else to do with my magnets?
