Stormdog,
In an audit we see that you reside in WI and we have you listed as working in the Chicago office. Company policy is to tax you in the state you work so I wanted to ensure you are indeed based out of the Chicago office and do not work remotely from WI. Please confirm
Thanks

That is correct, but I need to be taxed for Wisconsin. There is a reciprocal agreement in effect and one year I was taxed for Illinois which resulted in me having to file Illinois tax (to get a full refund of withholdings) and Wisconsin taxes (where I paid a penalty for having had no withholdings that year). I also submitted a copy of the Wisconsin state tax form explaining the reciprocal agreement.
I can find that form again for you if you need it, but please continue to withhold for Wisconsin.
Thanks;
Stormdog

I just wanna go home. Please?

Also, for what it’s worth, at this time I work two days in Chicago, and three days in Wisconsin, so I guess you could say I work in both states. Does that help muddy the waters?
Thanks;
