Jun. 12th, 2010 03:32 amI'm enjoying the NPCs in Dragon Age so much that, not only is sitting around camp and talking to them about their life stories one of the most interesting parts of the game, but as a romance develops between the main character (my avatar in the game world) and one of the NPCs, I'm actually getting really nervous about possibly saying the wrong thing with her! (And speaking of romance, being involved in a same-gender romance in a mainstream game is pretty nifty! How far we've come!)
The talking around the campfire reminds me of all the imaginary interaction and romance that I used to pretend was happening as I played Ultima IV back in grade school. (How many other kids inserted that kind of make-believe in games of that era I wonder?) That's really pretty neat. I started playing on the 'hard' difficulty. I don't know why. I shortly realized that combat was frustrating the hell out of me and that all I really care about is the story anyway, and I'm perfectly find with combat being, basically, click alla my guys then click alla their guys and let the beat-down happen. Easy mode it is!
I have got to get to bed now.
