Jan. 15th, 2012 10:47 pmAs I dig into editing my images to match the aspect ratio of the canvases I'm having printed, I wonder about this workflow goes for most people. What aspect ratio do most people who do a lot of photography shoot in? What aspect ratio do they compose their shots for? Does it depend on what sub-branch you're into? Who uses what format and why?
My camera produces 3:2 images, suitable for 4x6 prints. But most larger print sizes are not 3:2. Somewhere on the internet, there must be a discussion of what serious photographers shoot in and why, and how that affects their workflow for print vs. digital.
Also, I have finished a couple of photos that I'm going to use as my first two canvas printings. They are reedited versions of these two:
We'll have to see how they look after the printing process and cropped and wrapped and things.
I just played an hour and a half game of Martian Rails with some of the folks here at Danae's place. It's rare that I get to play rail games, so that was a lot of fun! I took 2nd place. Danae and I, as well as others, have been playing Dominion this weekend too. I had a blast with the suggested combination sets using Hinterlands and Prosperity!
