I forgot my lunch today! Though I did at least bring the yogurt that I habitually consume after arriving at school and locking up my bike. Looks like today will be lunch at Subway on campus. I try not to eat there when I can avoid it; I'm trying to save money, and that adds up. But the occasional turkey sandwich with spinach, olives, onions, and let's not forget the jalepeños, is really yummy.
After class today, I'll see if
danaeris has made it to Kenosha yet, then go shopping. I need tupperware, a toothbrush, a belt, and other random things. I also need to hit up some thrift stores and see if I can find more clothing. This past week I've found tears or holes in a shirt and a pair of jeans that were going to be in regular rotation. I also have realized that I need smaller clothes in general. I'd already moved down to 38" jeans, but I think I may need 36s. Which would be the smallest I've been since before high school. In fact, though regardless of the cliché of people trying to wear clothes they fit into in high school, I think I was probably at my heaviest I've been at that point, and during my first attempt at college. I weighed about 240 at that point. Right now, with the exercise I've been doing and the careful monitoring of food I've been doing, I'm down about 12 pounds from mid July and am half a pound under 210.
My main motivator in getting lighter has been my knees, which were starting to have occasional aches, pains, and pops. And they do seem to be feeling better, which is a real relief. I want to be able to keep climbing stairs and ladders and crawling around basements and roofs in abandoned buildings.
And do things like spend a large number of hours walking around, bending, and squatting for photos like I'll be doing on Saturday when I take a trip to Argonne National Laboratory for their open house! I'm pretty excited about this!
