stormdog: (sleep)
I had zombie dreams last night. I've *never* had zombie dreams. And they were pretty gross and disgusting. I blame [livejournal.com profile] lisagems and the books that [livejournal.com profile] wendyzski lent her. *grins*

My back has been hurting since yesterday morning. I think it was the heavy messenger bag on my shoulder. It still hurts after sleeping this morning, but I don't think it's in a way that will keep me off my bike.

I forgot my lunch today! Though I did at least bring the yogurt that I habitually consume after arriving at school and locking up my bike. Looks like today will be lunch at Subway on campus. I try not to eat there when I can avoid it; I'm trying to save money, and that adds up. But the occasional turkey sandwich with spinach, olives, onions, and let's not forget the jalepeños, is really yummy.

After class today, I'll see if [livejournal.com profile] danaeris has made it to Kenosha yet, then go shopping. I need tupperware, a toothbrush, a belt, and other random things. I also need to hit up some thrift stores and see if I can find more clothing. This past week I've found tears or holes in a shirt and a pair of jeans that were going to be in regular rotation. I also have realized that I need smaller clothes in general. I'd already moved down to 38" jeans, but I think I may need 36s. Which would be the smallest I've been since before high school. In fact, though regardless of the cliché of people trying to wear clothes they fit into in high school, I think I was probably at my heaviest I've been at that point, and during my first attempt at college. I weighed about 240 at that point. Right now, with the exercise I've been doing and the careful monitoring of food I've been doing, I'm down about 12 pounds from mid July and am half a pound under 210.

My main motivator in getting lighter has been my knees, which were starting to have occasional aches, pains, and pops. And they do seem to be feeling better, which is a real relief. I want to be able to keep climbing stairs and ladders and crawling around basements and roofs in abandoned buildings.

And do things like spend a large number of hours walking around, bending, and squatting for photos like I'll be doing on Saturday when I take a trip to Argonne National Laboratory for their open house! I'm pretty excited about this!

My evening is coming along well so far. I had to bike home in the rain. That wasn't so bad, except for the fact that the cuffs of my pants and my shoes got soaked, even with under the plastic poncho that I Keep in my panniers. (My shoes, should clarification be unnecessary, were not under said poncho. But my pants mostly were.) I really want to try to avoid riding in the rain if possible. I should look at the weather report before leaving I suppose.

I went shopping and got some bath/shower stuff, nice tupperware (With freeze-gel contained in the lid to keep things cold!) to take food to school in, and some frozen pizzas. Then I ate dinner. Those last two items were, in fact, connected.

Now, I'm going to use my first real span of free time for the week to make sure I have *all* my upcoming school stuff on my Google Calendar. That's first. Then I need to get stuff ready for my trip on Saturday, as well as catch up on my ledger in Quicken. It's been a while. Then, I might even have time to play a silly computer game if I don't fall asleep.

Tomorrow, I plan to be at the archives the whole time its open. It was pointed out in history class today that we have two class periods left before our reports are due. This class is going to move really fast. I have some research ideas that I'll start following up on tomorrow morning. I need to bring my laptop to make notes in a more organized way than I easily can in a notebook. I am feeling pretty good about all my other classes though.

Saturday is taken up with the trip to Argonne. Sunday I may have to myself, though I need to go out and do laundry since the dryer here at my parents' house is currently non-functional.

*woof* Life is pretty full!
