Since other classes have kept me occupied, I need to read all of Guests of the Sheikh by Elizabeth Fernea for Monday. It's been interesting reading about polygamous relationships in this rural Iraqi culture and comparing them to polyamory as I know it here in the states. I wonder if anyone's done cross-cultural examinations of 'traditional' non-monogamous relationships and the sort of of consensual, informed non-monogamy of certain current subcultures.
