I'm realizing today that I think a lot about the search for community. Both in my own life, and in my research interests. I suppose it's probably because, for such a long time, I didn't feel like I had one.

(And I still wonder sometimes whether it's premature to talk about 'ooh, my research interests when I'm still an undegrad. Oh well.)

The word/phrase "butthurt" instantly rankles me whenever I see it. Which is regularly, since it's become a commonly used term. I'm not sure why it bothers me so much, but I think about it from time to time as I try to figure it out. (Understand that I'm not being critical of other peoples' use of it; I just find it really annoying personally.)

How do you all feel about the term "butthurt"? Positive, negative, neutral? Do you know why you feel that way? I'm curious.
