I'm nervous and excited about my first meeting this morning with my advisor, another student, and the professor from another institution who I'll be doing some simple fieldwork related to the local winter farmer's market for.
The meeting is at a local Scandinavian bakery that I've never been to, so it sounds like there'll be some good food before we go over to the market.

Sure, I suppose it's nice that the Navy is going to have another ship named Enterprise. But I think that it would be much more in the spirit of the idealized society of the Federation of Planets to, instead, stop over-spending on and over-developing the military and devote much more significant funds to science. The construction of yet another aircraft carrier is, to paraphrase Eisenhower, yet another theft from those who hunger and are not fed as we continue to spend the sweat of our labor and the genius of our scientists.
