Jan. 15th, 2013 02:37 pmI just got back from a project meeting for the farmer's market research I'm assisting with. We split up some tasks and I have some data to analyze and work on in the near future. We settled on a date for the upcoming trip to the market in Milwaukee, and it doesn't interfere with plans for next weekend. Yay! We discussed possibly presenting as a panel at the annual American Anthropological Society meeting. That's the biggest anthropological conference in the country, and it's in Chicago this year, so I'm pretty excited about the potential of presenting there. The professor organizing the project tells us that very little work like this on winter markets has been done yet.
I brought my dad home from school, and I'm going to dig in to my daily photo editing, then think about how to fill out the learning contract for this project for my professor (it's going to be 3 credits of fieldwork), then look through the notes each of us took and try and make some organized quantitative data out of it. Then, I want to work on Spanish some.
Tomorrow, I go back to the archives to finish digitizing a couple of newspaper scrap books full of articles about the Kenosha harbor and waterfront from the late '50s through the late '60s. There's some neat stuff in there and I'm really enjoying the work, except for the fact that my shoulder and upper right torso are still hurting after more than a week now.
