Last Unicorn Tour
Apr. 11th, 2013 09:50 amHere's an insight into my younger self you may not have asked for. On account of how I'm sitting here bouncing and squeeing in my chair as I read through the web page again, I'm extending my willingness to drive to see The Last Unicorn on the big screen and meet Peter Beagle to about 400 miles. I don't do the crazy fan-boy thing. But I've loved this movie so much, for so long. I remember a birthday party for me when I was in elementary school when I made everyone watch this movie with me. I own the soundtrack on CD, imported from Germany. As I do with a few other bits of media (things like the Ultima series and, yes, Xanth, for instance) I remember a deep, visceral longing for the reality of the world presented in this movie. In its way, it's a kind of longing that has stayed with me my whole life, shaping my interests in fantasy and fiction.
