Jul. 27th, 2013 12:03 amThis has been a wonderful day, and I think there'll be two more of them. I'm feeling a little anxious about the time off from other stuff, but I'm trying not to let it worry me. Mostly I'm having much too good a time for it to be in mind.
We hit some thrift stores. Literally moments after commenting that I need to find a camera bag for my second body, I turned to look at the bag rack and found one. I also picked up a rolling luggage case to replace the one whose wheel broke on my last trip to see
danaeris. It's by Victorinox, so I think it'll last. I also found a pair of Levi's 501s in my size, and am feeling like I have enough pants for school at this point. Yay!
We'd missed breakfast, so we went to a Polish buffet for lunch. I love Polish buffets, and the ensuing pierogies, blintzes, sausage, soup, and other tasty foods, with a passion. I ate enough to keep me feeling well-fed the whole day. I'm only now feeling hungry again.
We photographed an abandoned one-room schoolhouse, and a bunch of stuff around Savanna, then stopped a a beautiful scenic overlook above the Mississippi River on the way to Dubuque and our motel. We're finally camped out for the night and about to crash. I'll probably write more details later. Sorry for not writing folks back here; I'll catch up once I'm back!
For now, here's my picture of the day that Posi shot of me near the school house in the small village of Ridott, Illinois.
