Giant hugs to the State of Illinois for progress toward same-sex marriage too! I still feel that the government has no business regulating marriage, and that marriage as legal institution serves to privilege one form of relationship as 'valid' over other, equally valid relationship models. But it's what we have, and we're stuck with it for the foreseeable future. It ought to be as equal and positive an institution as it can be.
I'm working on writing up the presentation-to-a-group version of my paper, since I'll be presenting it to the anthropology club this coming week. I think I can get it done tonight, since it's largely condensing down the full version. Then it'll be time for practice readings with a stopwatch. *grins*
My the SI session I led yesterday was an exam review, and I think it went really well. I got compliments from a couple students who said that I was really helpful in understanding things a bit better. One said that she could tell I was kind of nervous and new, but that I'm good at this and I shouldn't be nervous. Yay!
Admittedly, I'm feeling a little bit mentally roller-coastery lately, but that made me feel really good about myself, and about the things I'm working on lately in general. I can do it!
