Holy crap! I didn't believe it until I went and looked for myself, but you can now set a custom gender for yourself here on Facebook. This takes me completely by surprise, but it's certainly a welcome one.
I've been without a set gender there for some time, having used something of a hack to unselect the field. But I just changed the value there to agender.
I'm so glad to see something as mainstream as Facebook offering this kind of option. I think that those who are able to be 'out' about being gender-nonconforming on Facebook will do wonders for making the existence of non-binary and non-spectrum genders more visible, and thus make the general public more conscious of them. Yay!
