Apr. 28th, 2014 07:03 pmMy exciting news of the day is that I have an intake appointment with a doctor on Wednesday of this week!
He was recommended by The LGBT Center of SE Wisconsin. He's a family practitioner who is also interested in sports medicine. So basically he sounds perfect. I was nervous on the phone as I provided my info, wondering if, once they found out what insurance I had, I'd get referred elsewhere. But all was good, and I'm feeling very relieved to be seeing a doctor for the first time in four years or so. I'm still anxiously as I wait to see how the actual appointment and everything goes; it's weird to think that I have healthcare, and part of me expects it to turn out to be a mirage.
I biked to school through the rain this morning. My plastic rainsuit is showing its age, but if I turn the pants around so the tear is in the back, I don't get very wet. One sock got wet and the other didn't, so I'll have to pay attention to how I'm arranging the ankles next time.
I have this week and the next, then a week of finals and I'll be done with school. I have work to dig into right now, but I'm going to make it!
