stormdog: (Geek)
Aaaaaand I found my phone.

Getting dressed just now, I pulled a pair of pants out of my dresser drawer and the phone just clunked onto the ground. During my search, I had actually taken each pair of pants out of that drawer and checked their pockets, but somehow did not find it.

This will probably be more interesting to those of you know Kenosha, but I thought I'd share a map I just put together.

Pike Creek in Present Day Kenosa

As you've probably seen me say, Pike Creek was an industrialized stream that has, over the years, been fragmented and forgotten via development, channelization, and burial.

I've plotted paths on this Google Earth image showing current known and assumed paths of Pike Creek. Blue lines indicate current, extant waterways. Red lines indicate assumed underground paths. Purple lines indicate areas where I'm not sure of the current path, but I believe it to be above ground.

This creek really spread out! It has a much larger catchment area than I first realized or guessed, which explains why the mouth was once so big.

This is part of a start at collecting all of the information that we've put together so far and referencing it to specific locations. In my own placemarks, I have a bunch of pin-points I've added as well with comments, questions, or notes on people we've met. Next, I'm going to see if I can figure out how to connect photos to specific points in Google Earth; that would be handy.
