Aug. 20th, 2014 10:29 pmTomorrow, I'm driving my brother T to the airport to pick up his boyfriend S who's flying in from the west coast. I'm super-excited to meet him! He'll be staying here for a couple weeks I guess. I've offered to play tour-guide around Kenosha when I happen to be around with my car. Since Saturday is my brother's birthday, the family and said boyfriend are all going out for sushi here in town together.
On Friday, Lisa is coming up to Kenosha by train after work to stay the night and borrow my car. She's using it to get to the wedding that I was going to go to with her and that I feel a bit bad about not attending. (I'm sorry involved folks! I didn't know all this stuff was going to be happening!)
I've done some cleaning up upstairs here outside my room in the hallway that leads to T's room, and my mother did a bunch of cleaning and organizing downstairs. Since everything was clean, I decided to connect the Blu-Ray thingy and the cable reciever-box-thingy to the surround sound amp that's been sitting unused for a couple years. Then I even connected my old desktop computer with thousands of emulator games on it that's been sitting next to it, unused, for a similar period. I may only use it all a little bit here and there, but maybe T and S will make use of it. And my dad's been happy that he can watch movies with better speakers than the ones built into the TV.
For now, though, I'm still doing the grad school hunt. I really like the geography programs at Syracuse (Syracuse, NY), Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), CUNY (New York, NY), and UW-Madison (Madison, WI). There are others that look good too. It's good to be making progress. Of course, I still have to deal with taking GREs and starting work on things for my applications.
I have some friends-only stuff I want to write here, but I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe tomorrow, since I won't be at school.
