The Amendment to Overturn Citizens United
Sep. 11th, 2014 02:43 pmThis is important to me.
I don't generally pass along a lot of calls to action here. This one is related to what I think is possibly the most important individual bit of legislative action in my adult life; a constitutional amendment to overturn the results of Citizens United and end the concept of corporate citizenship.
If you are a US citizen and call 866-937-7983, you'll be able to enter your zip code and be directed the appropriate office for your senator. You can then just leave a quick message (since the phone lines will likely be overflowing) saying you support the Democracy for All amendment and would like to see your senator vote yes on it.
Thanks.

All Signed Up for the GRE
Sep. 11th, 2014 04:27 pmI just paid my monies ($200; oof.) so I can take my chances with a GRE test on the 7th of November. I would have liked one a little bit later, but I want to do it on a Friday when I don't have classes, and I need to ensure a minimal amount of time before my earliest application deadlines are up.
I'm not *too* concerned about the test; especially the verbal and writing parts. But my math skills have never been the greatest, so I'm going to be brushing up with some practice tests. I bet I can find up-to-date test prep materials at the campus library.
Wish me luck?

Midwest Fur Fest
Sep. 11th, 2014 04:46 pmOne more note! My brother and I are thinking about going to Midwest Fur Fest this year. I'd attended every year from 2003 through, oh, 2010 or so? But I haven't managed to get back in a while.
I'd really prefer to have four people to split room costs among. Do I know anybody who's thinking about going and would commit to paying a 1/4 room share?
