Although I will miss my girlfriends, it's calming to be looking at a weekend where I'm not driving anywhere. I'm feeling really glad to be at home.

Yet I'm finding myself daydreaming about driving up to Waukesha with my bike and riding the 52 mile bike trail that goes from there to Madison. If I took it both ways, that would be a good first-time century (100 miles in a day) ride. It's the math talking. I just want to get away for a little bit!

Instead, I will be good and productive this weekend. And catch up on sleep.

Math went really well last night. It's giving me some three dimensional geometry questions that involve new-to-me things. Still, despite initial trepidation at a problem involving the ratio of the volumes of spheres and cylinders, I worked through it using the formulas provided and got it right. A few problem sets with good results have helped my confidence a lot. I also don't think I'll ever forget the ratio in question, having been so pleased and surprised at getting it right. At least if I see it on the test, I won't have to calculate it! Anyway, I'm going to get back to that after more work on my paper that's due on Monday.

I went out to Woodman's to exchange a block of cheese that got moldy before I even opened it, and months before its sell-by date. Woodman's is a large, cheaper grocery store too far away to easily bike to. I usually go there on my back into town after being in Chicago, so it was a little annoying to have to go back. I took my dad with, picking him up from work at a local high school. While we were out, we went to Red Robin, a local restaurant that is reliable in terms of avoiding gluten contamination (he has celiac disease). He treated me to a tasty mushroom and swiss burger, and we had a nice time sitting and chatting. I don't like feeling as hermitty as I have been.

My knee still has a numb patch, but more annoying is the upper chest/shoulder pain that's still there from my crash. Maybe even a little worse than before. Hopefully Ibuprofen and rest this weekend will resolve that.

I haven't used my big keyboard (of the musical variety) in months, so I packed it under my bed. My room sure seems bigger now! It also at least *feels* a little more organized, whether it actually is or not, so that's kind of nice.

Ok, back to school....

The colors might not be my choice. But I like this. I'd love to have a corset for costuming/party purposes.

The problem is, once you start buying things like this, you have to buy appropriate things to wear it with, and things get way pricy....

I also don't really need the chains. Heck, maybe it's not so much this particular garment as much as just wanting to have a nice corset.
