Flu?

I just spent an hour and a half lying abed, twisting and turning under the covers with aches, chills, a very mild cough and sore throat, and no ability to fall asleep. I think I might just have the flu. Since I'm up anyway, I'll do some more work on my application that's due today.

The last time I was notably sick was a year ago at the same exact time Lisa was in the hospital after emergency surgery. I have a knack for poor timing.

So that this update isn't all bad, here's a picture of me with a very different kind of flue in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. This is part of the ruins at the Quincy Number 2 copper mine.

Newspaper research

I thought I'd take a break and do some more online newspaper research on Pike Creek. Last time I was using Access Newspaper Archive to go through OCRd papers, I found hundreds of results from the 19th century. Now I've finding six. Hmm....

Ok, so the hundred plus results prior to 1861 that I went through last time are still there. There's just nearly nothing from then to 1900. How odd.... I guess searching the newspapers won't be quite so easy as I thought.
