I love this sort of interactive presentation of sociological data. I think it will make people more likely to engage, kind of in the way that putting a scratch-off coating over a code on a piece of contest mail does.

Give it a try!

I'm going to walk out and pick up my freshly- serviced bicycle from Bucephalus Bikes. It'll be so good to have a working bike down here in Evanston!

And tonight, I'm planning to go to the volunteer orientation at the Recyclery Co-op. I really like their mission, and I enjoyed working in the place when I was there last week. I like the idea of learning bike repair skills while contributing to an organization whose structure and goals I strongly support!

It will likely sound silly to some of you. Or perhaps not, since so many people get pretty attached to their vehicles of choice, or even vehicles of necessity. But I *really* missed my Giant, and I'm so happy to have it back and riding smoothly!

This bike was the first significant purchase I made after getting my first paying job back in 1999 or 2000 (I was a late bloomer in a number of ways). It's kind of an old friend.
