Looking for a New Place

I'm starting to look for housing in the Syracuse area. I have a friend who lives in the city who's offered some great advice and driven me around the areas. I'm going to follow up on some suggestions he sent me.

I'm *also* looking at listings on Syracuse University's housing board for students, Orange Housing. (Everything is orange in Syracuse!) It's time to start sending out some emails. The idea of a furnished space is kind of appealing. It would be a lot cheaper to leave most of my stuff in Kenosha. Maybe I could just move in a car! But I want to have most of my stuff with me and live in a space that really feels like mine. For the same reasons, I've ruled out the co-op, and I don't see it likely that I'll look for a roommate situation. It's been a joy and a relief living with my wonderful family as I completed my undergrad work, but I need some space of my own for a while.

Student Orgs

I just submitted requests to join some student organizations at Syracuse. The Gaming Club (of course!), Students Advancing Sexual Safety and Empowerment (SASSE) which is a feminist, sex-positive, anti-violence group, and Pride Union, an LGBTQ group. I hope to make friends and find opportunities for activism!
