Aug. 2nd, 2018 08:53 amI told my therapist that I saw Pikas on my trip. Pikas have a special place in psychology, they said, since there is a disorder named after them.
'It doesn't cause Pika-like behavior, does it?' I asked, thinking of scrambling around rocks and making loud peeping noises.
'It does,' they said. 'It involves eating things that people probably shouldn't be eating, including, sometimes, their own excrement.
Sure are cute little fuzzies though, aren't they?

I got my vitals taken and blood work done yesterday. I've been telling people I'm 5'11", but I was apparently incorrect. Looking carefully at my report, I see that I am actually 5'10.98". I've been overstating by 1/50 of an inch!

cmcmck asked if blood pressure might be a factor in my headaches, but it was 120/70 so that seems ok. My non-fasting glucose level was 67, and that seems to be a good level despite having eaten a brownie a couple hours ago. All signs seem good.
My added weight has affected my overall conditioning less than I'd thought. In Colorado, Scott and i hiked the Manitou Incline. More on that later, but it's a trail that starts around 6600 feet and climbs about 2000 feet in less than a mile with a grade as steep as 68% in parts. I made it all the way to the top! It took over two hours, but I'm pleased with myself.
