Maybe I'll ask Uptown Bikes to do their stuff for me. There's a pretty good special happening right now.

Longing is 19 years old now. I bought zir (my bikes are gender-neutral) new in 2000 and zie's showing zir age in some ways. I've toyed with the idea of buying a new one sometimes, but I don't wanna for numerous reasons. The one I have just feels so familiar and right. Eventually I'll have to replace zir I suppose. I might try out a folding bike or a recumbent or something. Not for a few years yet, hopefully. I still want to have a party when Longing turns 21.

In the meantime, I think I need a new rear tire as well as general maintenance. I have a studded one on now, and the smooth one I took off when I switched out has seen better days.

Erik is picking me up after work tomorrow to spend the night over at his place, then dropping me off in the morning. The thought puts a smile on my face regardless of bike worries.

I just ordered a Gator Hardshell tire from Amazon listed as 'used very good' and shipping from Amazon Warehouse. I'm going to guess that it was a customer return and probably wasn't used at all. It was less than half the regular price, so I'll take a little chance. Even if it's used a little bit, I get thousands of miles on these tires so it'll probably be fine.
