My Facebook writings were chock full of anxiety and depression yesterday and I didn't feel up to the slight modifications and repostings to get it all here. It was a rough day. It's really good to have two people giving me care and support during difficult spans. I feel very cared for, and today will be a better day. Danae is back from Los Angeles too and her physical presence is a comfort.

Yesterday afternoon, we turned Rufus over to the folks who will be caring for him for the next week (his self-described 'cruise director' and her daughter). He took to them fairly quickly and I think he's going to enjoy his vacation. Maybe he'll come back with a tan.

We met up with Nathan to give him keys to take care of Seregil, and met with my down-the-hall neighbor to give her keys for the same purpose. She's going to feed him through Monday, and Nathan will be by the week after.

My foot is feeling mostly better and I'm going to try walking over to Jewel over lunch so I can stop buying expensive stuff on site. It's only half a mile one way, but it'd be the farthest I've walked in a couple weeks if I don't end up having to turn around.

And tonight, I do packing for Canada.

A few years ago, I think, I saw a set of four Art-nouveau style pieces of art I'm trying to find. They were four different dogs surrounded by flowers and other art-nouveau motifs. They had text, which I think was on banners, with affirmations. One of them said something about being pretty.

I'd really like to find them again. Does anyone think they might know what I'm talking about?

With the passage of time and increasing devotion of time to things other than popular culture, I become increasingly glad of the existence of Know Your Meme! It's basically a dictionary of current idiom for people who aren't fluent in the language.
