Aug. 5th, 2019 08:27 amI'm whining a little. Sorry about that.
Getting enough sleep is helping me. But I'm still having a rough patch in terms of motivation. I just don't feel like doing anything, either at work or at home.
I was proud of myself for deciding to go outside yesterday to go magnet fishing instead of sit around and do nothing. I overcame the lack of energy and figured once I started trying to find stuff people had thrown into the water I'd have some fun. I was really excited that Danae wanted to come with too. I brought Rufus, and I thought we'd all have a fun time outside. But that didn't work out. I was dumb and let it swing under the bridge when I tossed it over the railing for the first time and it grabbed an I-beam holding the bridge up. I spent forty-five minutes trying to get my magnet free while they waited on the bridge for me.
I did get clever trying to free my stuck magnet. I wrapped the rope around my hips a couple times, then wrapped the loose end back around the line to the stuck magnet to make a triangle with my body on the inside. Then I could jerk my entire body into pulling the thing. I slid it a few inches, but no more. And my hands and arms are sore from yanking this morning. I think in order to free it, I'd need to do something like set up a block and tackle around a tree on the channel bank to pull it with. And if I spent money on buying rope and pulleys and stuff, I probably could just buy another magnet instead.
800 lbs of pull is a lot. Alas, poor magnet.
I dunno. I'm just not sure what to do, other than lie on the couch and snuggle the dog. Except I have to be at work right now, and I can't bring the dog.
