Between that and difficulty in finding a place that allows cats, and probably needing to have a Dutch bank account set up before entering into a rental contract, its looking like Miriam *may* go first and live in some temporary lodging while apartment hunting. Then I can come along later with the kitty.
Someone is steam-cleaning our carpet today. Last night I moved all the easily-movable furniture into the bathroom and kitchen and piled up all the miscellany that's been on the floor of the spare room. We'll probably go back to making sure to have everyone take shoes off before going in to keep it looking nice. We kind of got out of that habit.
Danae sold her nice monitor today, and we'll hopefully be selling our AVR and little Bose cube surround speakers today. I got the AVR off the curb when I was in undergrad and the speakers were free from Posi, so even just a little cash for them is a great return on investment! I told Danae to go ahead and throw in the subwoofer too if the buyer wants it. It's the only piece of the system I paid for, and that was like $20 at a thrift store.
Bike shops, it seems, don't generally buy used bikes. I've asked about selling Perseverance, my Novara Fusion, to no avail. I could probably put it on Craigslist, but I'm tempted to keep it after rethinking. It's a really nice bad weather bike since the brakes and gears are basically weather-sealed. Maybe my parents or Posi would let me keep it there. I know I'm not getting rid of Longing; I've had him since 2000 and I'm really attached. It would be great if he could come with, but that's still in the air.
