After two trips to the hardware store and substituting a small bolt for a non-standard set screw that disappeared during our move, Danae's desk is set up! Mine should arrive on the fifth.

It's been hard to work on school or immigration stuff while sitting on the floor with sore knees. For now I'm sitting and working at hers because she has a laptop and can manage with less space.

software names

Why do people name software after the antithesis of what the software means to accomplish? Amazon's Kindle, an ebook system named after something you start a fire with. Discord, a program meant to facilitate communication named after a state of communication failure and lack of harmony. It's weird.

I just bought my first ever thing via Kindle because it was the only way I could get a textbook I need without waiting most of a month or more. I didn't manage to get prepared for school early because of that intercontinental move thing I was doing.
