Jun. 25th, 2007 08:18 amIt's time for another high-level weekend overview from your host, Stormdog!
We got to meet a couple of new people on Friday! Storm Gryphon, who I've been corresponding with for a little while now, came to visit from Indiana along with his friend StrongPawz. They picked up the big server they came for along with a couple of other things like a 24 port 100baseT rack mount switch and an old PII laptop. Hopefully they'll get some more use out of them. For my part, the house is slowly getting less cluttered and more organized, so I'm grateful. The four of us talked for a while and got dinner at Miraz. They were very nice and fun to be with; I hope we get to see them again soon.
Early Saturday, about nine o' clock, my brother came by for a haircutting. He has this gorgeous, thick, dark, curly hair that I'm really envious of. It gets longer than mine too; nearly down to his waist. Unfortunately, it was, shall we say, not in very good condition. The two of us had come to the conclusion that he really needed to start over with it. So, I basically shaved his head. I talked to him a little bit about how I take care of my hair, and once his is long enough again, I'm going to go out with him and get some good shampoo and conditioner (Aussie Moist!) and a boar bristle brush. In a couple years, he'll have a much more enviable mane than before! Almost certainly nicer than mine. *whines*
But anyway, after that Andrea and I went up Milwaukee way to connect with
mocha_mephooki and his mate Zanny and consume Mexican food. The food was ok. The decorations, on the other hand, were really neat! After dinner, we went to their apartment, got to meet their kitties, and sat around talking 'till late. Thanks for having us over!
Sunday we had visitors ourselves! Posicat and Tybis came up to Kenosha to hang out! Unfortunately, I was feeling the lack of sleep from the rest of the week and wasn't up to going with the other three to Seven Mile Fair. The fact that I passed on an opportunity to see such magnificent strangeness is telling; I must have really needed rest.
Fortunately, I was feeling better by the time they got back to Kenosha and was able to join them for food at Old Country Buffet. Mmm; cheese sauce! I think there might have been some other stuff there too. Following that, we took a quick trip to Woodman's for a few supplies, and then we went back home. Tybis traded me a Linksys NAS box that should be fun to play with in return for a laptop with a broken screen and I got to show off my newly organized computer room to my fellow geeks!
And then, having picked up some wood while we were out, we had burnination in the driveway. And I got foxy snuggles. Mmmm, foxy snuggles.... Er, where was I? Oh, so it got to be pretty late and Tybis and Posi left for their respective homes, and I finally went up to bed.
And I guess I'm about up to date again. Not to mention most of the way to work. 'Till later!
