This week is going to be even crazier than last week from the look of things. [livejournal.com profile] serinthia is going to be out of the office from Wednesday on through Friday in preparation for MFF. Our team lead may be out for a few days too; he has a class my manager is sending him to. Might be just me for a few days in there! I'm going to have to go home to an empty house on Thursday since [livejournal.com profile] moiracoon will be at the con and I wasn't able to get Friday off, but I suppose I'll at least have time to pack that night.

Speaking of the con, I note that a number of other people have begun the yearly ritual of posting the rules that other people should keep in mind when interacting with them at a furry convention. I almost forgot how important that can be! You never know what random bit of seemingly innocuous behaviour will set someone off. So, take a look at mine in case you meet me this weekend.

1) Please ignore the small sphere of pearlescent aquamarine flames that may occasionally circle my head in an elliptical orbit with a small eccentricity at the closest approach to my nose. I've asked it to stop that and move in a perfect circle as God and the church intended, but it doesn't listen. *sigh* Eppur si muove.

2) I'd appreciate it if you don't refer to me as a pair of pathetic peripatetics. I mean, honestly; there's just one of me here right now.

3) I eat meat; I am not proud.

4) Please refrain from composing extemporaneous epic verse comparing the color and texture of my beard to the beautiful india-ink shine of the polishing compounds employed by itinerant boot-blacks in turn of the century New York City subways. I hate when people do that. ([livejournal.com profile] infintysquared is, of course, excepted from this rule.)

5) If I'm singing the body electric, please don't interrupt. You are, however, welcome to harmonize or add a drumbeat or something.

6) Yes, you may (probably). Except that, you pervert!

7) In this vast universe of eternally expanding emptiness, there are a few brilliant gleams of light that are otherworldly in their aspect; as though they are windows into a place of hope, dreams, and possibility. So entrancing, so fulfilling, is their light that the very vacuum around them, suffused by the radiance of these precious few manifestations of perfect beauty, seems to be transfigured into a refuge; a place of warmth and peace from which to gaze at that indescribable wonder and meditate on the unlimited possibility of an existence that can produce such pure, sacred magnificence.
The shiny item that I'm playing with from time to time, while I can understand the confusion between it and the aforementioned brilliant gleams of perfect light, is most likely merely just a hair-shiny. Maybe a little dragonfly that clips to a braid or something. Please don't try to bask in its glow, peer at it in search of universal answers, or nick it from me when I'm not looking so you can search for its secrets alone in your hotel room. It's just a hair-shiny.

8) It's just con fatigue; it's not lupus. It's never lupus. Unless you're talking to a wolf.

9) Dogs like having their fur complimented, petted, or otherwise paid attention to.

Hope to see you there!
