I was going to go down and visit my grandfather today. Unfortunately, my mate is pretty solidly sick today with something that is probably whatever's been going around work and friends lately, and I can tell that I'm starting to get afflicted as well. So, I called my grandmother and confirmed with her what I thought would be the case; she'd prefer I not come down and possibly get grandpa sick after he was just in the hospital with pneumonia. So, I guess I'm going to be around Kenosha today. I'm disappointed; I was really looking forward to a chance to see him. Hopefully we can arrange it for the weekend after next, since next weekend will see us up in the Dells.

I'm going to work on some cleaning up, some Ebay stuff, and burning some software for my dad. I may also play some Rock Band with folks over there when I stop in to drop off said software.

Speaking of my dad, there's this nifty project going on called Shadow Unit. The idea behind it is that it's basically a body of work surrounding this fictional television show that sounds like a sort of supernatural CSI. Some of the motivators behind the project happen to be a couple of moiracoon (and sabrinageek's!) favorite authors, Emma Bull and Will Shetterly, as well as other people.

This relates to me dad because he (with some help from my mom, farm_cat, has begun writing his own contribution to the body of fan-fiction for the show! You can read the first chapter (and see his new LJ eye-con) over at his blog: barton_fender.
