Mar. 6th, 2008 02:04 pmOur team lead has decided, because of a joke I made about how much light my four monitors give off, it would be funny to turn the lights off in here and turn on the red spinning light that we use when there's a major problem affecting the network. That lead me to talk about reading jwz.org and the story there about the nightclub that Jamie Zawinski, one of the authors of Netscape Navigator, owns. There was a huge party the day that Netscape went public and the nightclub had a huge display that scrolled lines of Netscape source code the whole night.
Bit I digress.
I actually kind of like working in the dark, and it's made me realize that I really do never look at my keyboard. And it's only a little more difficult when I slide down my desk to work on one of the four laptops sitting next to me. Just seeing these monitors and displays floating in the darkness is really soothing. The spinning red light, on the other hand, is giving me a headache....
Today seems to be going quickly. I've had things that were at least mildly interesting keeping me busy today. And our manager gave us more girl-scout cookies (I only had one).

Awwwww........ The lights are back on.
