I passed Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices part 1 with a score of 961 out of 1000. Passing requirement is 804, so I think that's pretty good. Especially considering the circumstances. After spending the whole day through five o' clock reviewing, and getting all psyched up for the test, the program wouldn't run. After spending forty-five minutes trying to track down a problem that he though was related to an incorrect version of flash, he had us all power down our computers and physically open them up and take out 3GB of RAM. Apparently the test program freaked out with more than 1GB of RAM in the computer. This really weirded me out since the last time I saw a program that choked on too much memory, it was running under DOS 7. But who knows. I joked that we should be leaving the room with our A+ on top of our CCNA. (Of course, I already have my A+ so that would be kind of pointless, but the joke was there.)

And about forty minutes in to the test, some portion of the building (I'm not clear on how much or why) lost power and we lost our connection to the DNS/DHCP server that was also acting as our network's default gateway. Therefore, we could no longer connect to the test server and we were booted out of the test. There were some loud grumblings about what the consequences would be should we log in and find that we'd lost time, or that we had to start over. Fortunately, after another half hour or so, we got connected again and found that we were back where we'd left off. Whee. Though I'd hoped to be done before 6:30 (the test was ninety minutes long and I only used about an hour of it), I ended up at my desk 'till about quarter to nine. But at least it's done and out of the way. I can live with that.

I got to talk with my lovely mate for a time after class. I told her the full story and we chatted about our days. It's silly how much we miss each other, but we do. I am still so very much in love with my dear one. This Friday is going to be our wedding anniversary! I'd marry my beautiful wife again in a heartbeat.

And [livejournal.com profile] rileybear67 picked me up at the testing facility. We put my bike in the back of her car and, since it was late and we'd both eaten (she'd found food while waiting for me, and I'd repasted on bags of goldfish crackers, leftover muffins from breakfast, and some fresh cookies that the testing center admin made for us; yum!), we just both went back to the hotel room for victory celebrations....

*wuffs* And I think I'll go to sleep now. I can't remember when class starts tomorrow; I'm guessing nine, but I want to be there early in case I'm wrong. Besides that, I'm pretty wiped by the events of the day. And evening. *snuggles up under some blankets* Good night!
