Sep. 19th, 2008 09:01 pmApart from a couple of one to two hour breaks, I've been sleeping since getting home from work yesterday at five. That's a lot of hours. It helped; I feel better. The cold has moved from my nose and throat into my joints, which I prefer. I can deal with sore and stiff; I hate not being able to talk or breathe without pain.
I got nothing done on the house, and probably won't. I guess that's the way it goes again.
My last round of sleep was continually punctuated by strange visions of the rolling stock at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, and imagined views from the engineer's side of an operating steam locomotive. A Big Boy, actually. Not that I've ever been in the cab of a Big Boy, or even seen one in real life, but I continue to be obsessed with them. There were also a lot of visions of me trying to get Moira on and off passenger trains in her wheelchair and how frustrating it was dealing with the train personnel.
Moira's car was looked at today. They're talking about replacing the mass airflow sensor and doing a smoke test of the evaporative system to find the leak. Should run between four and five hundred dollars. Worth it, but pricey. The car runs just fine right now and is definitely worth repairing.
I'm having lunch tomorrow with my dad and his newly discovered half-sister, along with Moira if she's feeling up to it. She and her family, and my parents and brothers have a hotel room they are staying at Saturday night and we're invited to go with. I may do that; it depends on how I feel.
