I decided last week that I would finally get one of my pictures blown up really big and see how it looked. I called Office Max and Kinko's to check prices and what-not and settled on Office Max. When I got there, I found out that they had a special for an even bigger print than I asked for; $15.99 for a 24 x 36 instead of the regular $40. So I told them to go for it! Then I found a frame half off at Hobby Lobby for it. Apparently it was a good day for photography in Kenosha.

The print looks great! It looks like the images that my camera produces are more than capable of being blown up to two feet by three feet. I was really happy with the way it came out! The neat thing, and the not-so-neat thing too, of having something printed so large, is that every little error in composition and exposure and every other aspect of the shot really jumps out at you. I've been having a good time, though, going over it in detail and seeing what I can do better when I go back to shoot the site again.

In the meantime, I hung it up on the wall at home. Through the week, though, I'd been thinking about all the other pictures I have up at work, and thought about putting it up there. I ran it by my team lead and he was all for it, so I brought it in with me today. I figure since I won't be working at the same building after June, I might as well use the space while I have it!

I guess it's kind of self-centered to have a huge framed print of a picture I took at work, but it's the first time I've had a big print done and the novelty hasn't worn off. Humour me?

Here's a picture (via my Treo) of the area around my desk, and one of just the pictures. If you click the second one to open it up in Flickr, there are notes for each picture on what it is if you mouse over them. That note feature is pretty nifty!

(Still working on that post about my weird experience in an anbandoned high school. Hopefully this weekend... I also have more pictures to post from other places too. Whee?)
