Jul. 22nd, 2009 08:45 amWoof! I'm relatively awake now, and even got up at a sufficiently early hour to get the garbage out to the curb and expect that it will be picked up. Yay me!
To celebrate, here's my picture for the day (though since I missed the last couple, I'll post a bonus one shortly).

These buildings at the Quincy Mining Company's No.2 shaft were just so picturesque. Here is another building (At least, I'm pretty sure this was a different building; it's been over a year and I can't remember for certain) composed of poor rock with brick accents. Even so far decayed, they have a certain strength and majesty in the way the shoulders of their arches stand unbowed.
I think this frame is a touch underexposed, but at least I didn't wash out the sky to white! Unfortunately, I rarely shoot enough images that have a straight horizon that a graduated neutral density filter would help much. My patches of sky are usually seen among collapsing columns and ruined roofs.
--------
Moira and I are still finalizing plans for our UP trip this weekend. We may go up here again. We may not. I'm not too worried; I'll simply be happy spending a couple days exploring with my dear one.
