Fall Leaves

Getting back from a trip out with my dear one to Kenosha's new pizza buffet, I was struck by all the leaves on our front lawn. Fall is here, and the seasons turn on. I guess I'm ok with that. How about you all? How's the change of the seasons looking in your neck of the woods? Do you feel ready for Fall, or are you still living in Spring in your brain? How's your inner self greeting the cold weather?

I've realized, as I get out and do more walking photo trips, that if I plan to keep doing a lot of this, I really do need to be in better shape. My legs were sore and my knees were popping until Wednesday after all the walking this past weekend. I plan to be out exploring for many decades to come, so I need to nip that in the bud.
I'm planning to get back to working at getting more fit and reduce the excess weight I'm carrying by mostly following the ideas outlined in The Hacker's Diet. It's a very logical and systematic way of looking at things from the perspective of an engineer making modifications to a system. I think about forty pounds will do nicely. I can imagine how tired I'd be carrying an extra forty pounds up those ten or twelve floors of stairs to the top of the abandoned silos I was at, so I can imagine how much better I'll feel when I'm carrying that much less.
The other fun things about exercising: I get to work away on the elliptical and close my eyes and nod my head around and mouth the words to whatever I'm listening to on the MP3 player (by the way, there aren't many better songs to exercise to than Nine Inch Nails' The Hand that Feeds). My brain is free to think about random stuff, and while my body is being productive, my brain wants to be productive too! I find myself planning all these tasks that I want to accomplish once I'm done at the gym! And when I got home last night, I even did some of them (the aforementioned Craigs Listing)!
Let's see. This weekend I'm going to a crafty fair with
