Sep. 14th, 2009 06:25 amAs I just said to
laureth, I'm glad my friends are cracked like I am. Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light.
Igor is up and running. Juan thinks the wheel cylinder on the rear passenger side may not be functioning a hundred percent, but the brakes were working just fine on the way to the station this morning, so I think it's ok. We also found, as we were putting stuff back together in the engine compartment, that the new brake lines kind of go through the space that the coolant overflow bottle is supposed to occupy. Well, nothing a few zip-ties couldn't fix. It's not pristine looking, but really, I'm more about functionality at this point.
Igor is still running a little rough. I don't really know why. Ah well.
Three folks came by yesterday and picked up those desktop computers. That makes me so happy! I freed up significant space in my garage and computer room and have used it to begin further organization. It does wonders for my brain when things are clean, or at least getting noticeably cleaner. I've also used the extra space to begin a new Ebay push, which I intend to keep up until I have the garage mostly emptied of techy kruft that followed me home from work. Beware the motivated dog!
I talked to the buyers for a bit about their plans. Two of them are going through classes for A+/Network+ certs, and I talked about how I got mine, and what my experience was like a bit. They are going to open an internet cafe with the computers, and I wish them luck. I said that I have a lot of respect for people who are opening their own business; that takes a lot of planning and courage.
I also caught up with bathroom cleaning yesterday, and emptied and organized the cabinet under the sink. It's had a dinged-up mesh garbage can full of random bags and boxes from the old apartment since we moved I think! Now I have all the cleaning stuff arranged and accessible. I also washed the floor by the catbox; still have to do the other side. Soon, I'm hoping we can have the handyman come in and fix the shower faucet, 'cause it's driving me nuts that we have to spend minutes getting the temperature right and even more minutes trying to get it to shut off all the way.
I totally forgot my belt this morning. Oops. At least these pants tend to stay up on their own.
I'm just feeling kind of happy this morning. I'm happy with what I got done. Happy about my car. Happy that both of my relationships seem to be going well. One silly thing that made me happy this morning is the pretty hardwood comb that
awful_horrid bought for me a while ago. It's lovely, and makes me smile every time I use it.
mocha_mephooki and
moiracoon had a wonderful time at the craft fair on Saturday, and that makes me happy too. It sounds like an awesome place. Hopefully I can make it next time. I did get to talk to him for a little while at the house before they left though, and that was nice too.
I guess the preceding probably isn't of much interest to most folks. Just rambling as my train runs south to Chicago and the sun rises slowly up over the lake to the east. I hope you are all having the best day possible. *hugs*
