I figured out why my server wasn't working!
This is actually quite a load off my mind. I don't like leaving things unfinished. I like to start on something and get it done so I can stop thinking about it and for the past three days my server has been 30 pounds of unfinished sitting in the middle of my floor. But it works now! This is an occasion for the happy doggy dance!
The problem has to do with an incorrect date setting in the bios. I set it 50 years ahead so that certain software didn't expire and for some reason the future date made my mail server continually crash. I have no idea why they're related, but I finally tried resetting the date and it worked. This makes me happy. Now I have to figure out why my sound card isn't working again. Heh. Then I have to transfer the 16 gigabytes of backed up MP3's and movies back to my server...
Got stuff on E-bay including a pair of Docs thanks to some sizing information from my lovely assistant. *grin* More tomorrow.
And my LiveJournal haiku:
Uh-huh. Very funny.
