Bumper stickers
Jul. 29th, 2010 10:46 amI just put three more bumper stickers on my car for a total of four. I intend to add some more as I find ones that make me happy to look at.
One of the first things I see that really tell me I'm at a convention when I drive to a hotel is a dozen cars in the parking lot plastered in bumper stickers. Seeing them makes me happy. Helps me feel a little bit at home right from the moment of arrival. I like the idea that maybe someone at Windycon or Midwest Furfest, or even somewhere on the streets or highways, will see my car, festooned in colorful, text-filled rectangles, and smile. Maybe it will lift a few people's moods, just as
posicat does with his Grey Poupon habit. And lifting people's moods in this world couldn't ever be a bad thing.
I'd really like to know about how you decorate your own things with stickers. Do you have bumper stickers on your car? Or maybe other kinds of stickers on something else? My theremin has a NASA 'meatball' logo on it that I got at a convention one year. My guitar has a couple of little glittery hearts that were on it when I bought it (at the Goodwill) and a small rainbow-spotted Dalmatian that was a gift from my friend Michelle. I only put stickers on things I have some level of personal investment in. I'd put stickers on my camera if there was any room for them. Instead, I have a strap with peace signs and doves that
moiracoon bought for me, as well as a hand-woven one that
rileybear67 gave me as a gift.
What kind of stickers do you have on your things? I'd really love to hear about them.
Here's a picture of my car I just took this morning.

Each of those mean something special to me. I'd love to hear about how you personalize your own car and posessions.

They're spaced out to make room for future additions. They say:
- I need my space (with NASA logo)
- Compassion is the radicalism of our time. - The Dalai Lama
- I do not intend to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death
- Something wonderful is about to happen
Each of those mean something special to me. I'd love to hear about how you personalize your own car and posessions.
