stormdogI fail at cooking.
I was trying to make this barley casserole. I felt all proud of myself as I went to the grocery store and bought food like an adult!
When I got back, I realized that I hadn't seen some ingredients that were indented differently on the web page. I was missing mushrooms, vegetable broth and pine nuts. Also, I bought tomato sauce instead of tomato juice because the bottles of tomato juice were way too big. Also also, I bought way too much garlic because I didn't realize the difference between cloves and bulbs until I got home.
So I put the stuff together, using extra onion instead of mushroom (I had too big of an onion anyway), and water instead of broth. I realized after I finished that I forgot to include the red bell pepper. It looks pretty soupy, even with the tomato sauce, and I'm not sure how this is going to turn into a casserole. I just hope it's edible. Wish me luck; I don't have a lot of confidence in this.
