Today, I sorted out the rest of my shots of New Orleans, then edited 93 of them, and posted almost all of those 93 with info and tags. I also called up my VOIP provider and changed my account, my bank to find out what check number I need to start a new order from, work to ask about my paperwork (send an email, they said), and the unemployment office (busy signal on multiple occasions). I'm a good dog, right?
Tomorrow, I'm going to give Ceilidh's dog a bath in the hope that it will help her with her skin allergies. I'm also going to drive out to Buddy's before dinner to get pizza for the three of us here, edit more pictures, and probably do some Japanese practice and help with housework.
It seems that my dad has been diagnosed with Celiac disease (and related malnutrition) and silent ulcers, so I'm a bit worried about him even though those all sound entirely treatable and he should be feeling better soon once he starts eating differently. Still, he's on my mind. As are other folks in Wisconsin and in Illinois. I'm enjoying my time here, but I feel a little bit disconnected from people back home-way.
Ceilidh got some free tickets for a tour of the Joe Louis Arena on fan day next weekend, so I'm excited about getting onto the ice and taking some pictures. I think the last time I've been inside a professional sports stadium was when I was little and my dad won tickets on WGN for a baseball clinic that was on the grass of Wrigley Field. I was never really a sports fan, even as a kid, but I still remember that as a special experience.
Since arriving here, Ceilidh and I have watched Pontiac Moon, Benny and Joon, A Boy and his Dog, and tonight, The Ruling Class. I enjoyed Benny and Joon the most out of the three that are new to me. The Ruling Class was interesting and contained a number of things that struck me as odd echos of Hamlet (which is perhaps not surprising given Peter O' Toole's background) and I'd enjoy seeing him as the prince of Denmark. And as Ceilidh told me, he has an amazing voice.
And with that, I think I'm going to brush my teeth and get to bed. It's an hour later here and I'm tired.
