Much less discussed than those ever-present poly spectres of jealousy and time management is the issue of keeping track of your stuff.
When I can't find something (and in the life of Stormdog, this is a common occurrence), it could be in a number of places. My room, of course. It's the default location where I keep my stuff when it's not somewhere else. Or it could be at my parents' house, where I'm visiting on a semi-regular basis, and where I only have a futon in the living room to sleep on, leading to a certain ease with which things can be misplaced.
But beyond that, it might be at
danaeris' place in Aurora, where I usually reside for several days a week. It could also be at
lisagems' apartment in Rogers Park, where I regularly visit. And heck, if I haven't seen it in quite some time, it may well be with my ex,
moiracoon, in Racine too. (I need to coordinate getting all my stuff from there as soon as I'm living in Kenosha.)
And that's not to mention the respective cars (mine and Danae's) that things might have been left in, or other far-flung places I can get to when travelling (though I've been doing sadly little of that of late). Things can disappear in a lot of places, and it can be really hard to track them down!
In the last while, I've lost quite a list. My camera bag, containing my intervalometer and lens paper, but not, thank heavens, my camera or second lens. Of course, after that, I lost the second, very expensive, lens. My little blue bag with my personal hygiene stuff in it. My glasses (though I *know*, basically, where those went).Several books I've been reading. A 120 volt to 9 volt power adapter for using my phone battery charger. A battery for my cell phone. One of my Japanese class notebooks. And probably more I'm not thinking of.
At this point, I've found nearly everything on that list. Including, more thanks to the heavens, my lens, which I was really stressing over. I can't find my camera bag, or that power adapter (and I really can't figure out where that adapter went), but I can live without those.. I'm just feeling very relieved and grateful to have found the bulk of it, and all of the most important items.
And now that I'm back at my apartment after riding the Metra and CTA back from Aurora, I need to walk over to Dominick's and get some food. I'm starvin'!
