Mar. 3rd, 2004 08:30 pmI am having the most amazingly relaxing evening. I'm sitting in geekland, listening to music and doing some very leisurely tidying up while my beloved works on ebay stuff just a few meters away. I came home, got my ebay accounting done, tidied up my clothes, and have just been languourously cleaning up.
daveqat wrote something in his journal about being domestic. I'm being very domestic, and it feels so very nice...
I'm hired at Clark Brothers. I start Monday. Of course, I've actually been working there for three months, but I'm starting there as a real, honest, actual Clark Brothers employee on Monday. I have to say that I actually started getting a little stressed listening to Junior explain the benefits, the vacation policies, scheduled raises, and other information geared around a quarterly and/or yearly timetable. Just the thought of working there that long, spending years of my life in that little factory making nozzly widgets, gauges, and cables makes me uneasy. But I remind myself that it's only for six months, possibly less, while I pursue my courses with New Horizons.
In fact, I'm actually a little more enthusiastic about my job lately, despite the fact that I spent today shooting grease into cable housings and ended up with my legs liberally doused in the stuff. I admit I had been losing a little enthusiasm lately. That's not to say I've been lazing about and slowing production or anything; the grind was just starting to get to me. Now, I have a concrete, and not far off, goal that this job is getting me to, and I am excited.
My general feeling of contentment lately is due as well in no small part to my dear one. I have spent this week happily swaddled in domestic bliss. There is nothing better than being happy with the one you love. *hugs the coon girl*
My playlist tonight; since I'm really enjoying the music I thought I'd put it here for you. For those who don't know my musical taste, here's a sampling. *grins*
Eels - Your Lucky Day in Hell
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (thanks for putting that in my head,
boixboi...)
Aliotta, Haynes, and Jeremiah - Lake Shore Drive
America - Horse With No Name
