I haven't gotten as much done this weekend as I'd like. But I have researched and written one (short) paper applying themes from Thomas Hine's "Populuxe" to popular periodicals from the late '50s, and created a ten or fifteen minute Powerpoint presentation about Cleveland, Ohio. I have gone to the first meeting of my language creation group for my anthropology of language class. I've had a meeting with my fieldwork group and outlined the next steps there. And I showered and scrubbed my face and that feels great!
I still want to work on slides for an upcoming Powerpoint for LGBTQ, read more of my bio of Timothy Leary, and come up with some ideas on questions to ask the manager of the Kenosha harbor market for when I interview him. I'm feeling a lot better, about school. Just mildly stressy rather than flipping-my-shit stressy. I want to catch up on money in my ledger, and write a couple emails to people. I'd like to clean up the explosion of papers, clothes, books, and notebooks in my room.
But I'm feeling better. Things seem approachable and manageable.

My dad went back in to the hospital yesterday with trouble breathing, so that's been on my mind. I've gotta say that that's been stressing me a bit too. First thought was pneumonia from having been unable to breath in all the way due to cracked ribs followed by five days in a hospital bed. But that wasn't it. Current thought is that, because he was off of his diuretic meds during his last stay, he retained too much water and it put pressure on his lungs. He gained 16 pounds between when they let him out and when they readmitted him yesterday.
So he's going to be in for a few more days while they do whatever it is that they're doing in there. It does sound, once again, like things are going well at least.
