May. 18th, 2014 01:11 amI had a very nice time at the mad hatter tea party I attended with my beloved Danae. I was suitably attired as a sci-fi panda, while she sported a more traditional Victorian look with small hat and veil. There was tasty food and good conversation, including discussion with a person with a lot of library and archive experience. I look forward to talking more with him, as that's a fall-back career path for me.
Tomorrow, my other sweetie Lisa will be meeting me here at Danae's place and the two (or possibly three) of us will get some ice cream with a Bobtail [a nice local ice cream place] Groupon I have. Spending time with both of my girlfriends is a wonderful way to start the summer. *happy sigh*
And now, I'm going to go back to snuggling Danae (once she gets to bed) and reading Erving Goffman's "The Presentation of the Self in Everyday Life." My advisor has mentioned it in class a bunch of times. Though it's not why I'm reading it, what little I know about it kind of makes it sound like it would be a really excellent book for people who don't understand how social interaction works. Maybe it would have helped me back when I was little and terrified.
I've been largely away from the computer. I'll probably catch up tomorrow or Monday.
