stormdogI had a nice long talk with my dad on the phone tonight. I love talking to my parents, just filling each other in on what's been going on in our respective lives. I miss them a lot and it feels so good to have that contact with them.
My dad is busy doing what I just got done with; he's working as many days as he can doing substitute teaching and going to school at the same time to get more qualifications. He's been having trouble finding a permanent post and he thinks that will help. I am in awe of him managing to juggle so much stuff at once, not least because I am finally done hoeing a very similar row myself. He and my mother were always there for me to talk to when school and work got to be too stressful for me and I just hope I can return a little of that to them.
One other thing that bears note; my mother picked up the World Tree anthropomorphic tabletop RPG and is running it for friends and family. I have the coolest parents! I'm just jealous that so many things like LAN parties upstairs and roleplaying games like World Tree and Ninjaburger got started after I moved away! *giggle*
I got a lot done on the living room today. We have sittable couch space for the first time in months! Yay!
