I need to review one more article I read a while back. I'm going to deal with that tomorrow 'cause my brain is full.
But other than that, my work is done. I get a day off! Giving myself time off is excellent motivation. It ensure that I get work done in advance, which helps me destress. A prize I really want ensures that I work efficiently, rather than alternating continually between work and other distractions that would keep me from having things done in advance. It also makes sure that I'm going out and doing fun things once in a while instead of sitting endlessly in front of my computer. That's good for both mental and physical health.
I'm going to get up early and go for a thirty or forty mile ride along the Erie Canal towpath tomorrow.
---
I got my shopping done too. The shuttle went to a Wegman's to the west, near what Google Earth says is Fairmount, rather than the one in DeWitt that I was expecting. Nevertheless, selection was just fine. I got a three-pack of rising crust pizza, four boxes of cereal, two quarts of yogurt, two half-gallons of soymilk, some cookie dough (yay!) and a few more things. Oh, I got Sixlets! I *love* those things! Does anybody else like Sixlets? There's a Target on the other side of the plaza that I went into as well; I picked up a reading lamp for my desk there (that's been really nice tonight) and some coat hangers.
I had two full loads of stuff by bike. Speaking of my bike, I'd left it across the quad in my office, so I had to walk over there and get it. I ferried the cold stuff home first, then made the mile-and-a-half ride back to get the rest of it. Not so bad. And the convenience of having space to leave stuff is wonderful.
Did I mention that I've been told that, regardless of the weather, I should just park my bike in my shared office when I get to campus? I will certainly not be the only person pushing a dripping bicycle through the halls of knowledge.
