Petty Accounting

I paid off my student loan from Michigan while I was still living in New York. Today though, I got an email from the bank's collections department about "an important business matter." I told Danae that I'd probably missed a mailed statement because of the address change, and I probably owed them ten cents or something.
I was wrong; calling to inquire, I learned that, in fact, I owe nine cents. I was off by a full ten percent! They can't take a card over the phone, and check by phone has a $10 fee attached, so I'm going to end up sending a last check. But wait; I was right after all! I need to make it for ten cents to cover any interest that might accrue by then.
If this shows up in my credit report, I'll be deeply annoyed. Not that my credit is perfect anyway, but it would be so aggravating to be dinged for ten cents....
