Back to work!
Despite being far busier than I was expecting (we're being swamped with calls on President's Day? I thought people were supposed to have the day off...), work is not that bad. My new schedule (and resultant lessening of sleep deprivation) has given me a little sunnier outlook on things. Even my wrist feels better.
Speaking of which, I finally bought a brace for it yesterday. That combined with my split keyboard and my attempt to maintain better posture seems to be helping. I was worried at the end of work on Friday when both of my hands were aching so badly and I was honestly scared that evening as I passed on getting kitchen cleaning done because my hands hurt so badly I couldn't do anything useful with them.
But the rest on the weekend helped a lot and they've hardly hurt at all today. I think I popped something back into place in my wrist too when I linked hands behind my chair to stretch and pulled on them; something went *pop* but it was a good pop.
Plans for the next couple of weeks are coming together. In reverse chronological order:
In two weeks, I'm being accompanied by a pretty girl to Congenial for a thoroughly planned-activity free weekend. In that aspect, I'm unable to see a great deviation here from most other cons we've attended. C'est la vie. My vacation days were approved this morning. I've got that Friday and Monday off; four day weekend so we don't have to rush to get there on Friday night or rush to leave on Sunday. I'm looking forward to a very leisurely weekend with, hopefully, lots of board games, card games, and sitting around. I think I'll bring Dance Dance Revolution. I don't know if anyone will be interested but it won't hurt to have it with.
This coming weekend, we're bringing Kuma the (approximately) one-hundred and fifty pound Akita to visit the people who will probably be taking care of him for a month or so; my parents and brothers (and Lara!). Andrea is really nervous but I'm really not. I know Kuma fairly well and I know their cats and their (my) silly Beagle girl. They'll all get along.
Until then? Study, clean, sleep, and love my beloved. It's not such a bad life, non?
